Sunday 4th February was a special day for the recently launched Kids Housepgroup as the kids came up with an awesome community project of their own. Abi and Sophie hosted a Star Wars themed afternoon to which they invited their school friends, offering Star Wars themed cakes and activities in return for a £3 entry fee. The afternoon raised more than £50 for 'ToyBox' - a charity that helps street kids in Latin America. It was great to see the effort that all the children (and a particular adult!) put into dressing up and their generosity to the charity was overwhelming too.
On sunday we did our monthly community projects. our housegroup decided to visit a local residential home, where we chatted to the residents, did hand masages and painted nails. the room was full of chatting and smiles, and it was great to see. many of our housegroup were a bit worried beforehand, but had a great time. What did everyone else do? it would be great to find out how it went.
