This Sunday, Dan & Rach's group (and friends!) stuck "drop in the ocean" labels on 360 bottles of water and headed on down to the Memorial Park. It was quite a grey day and we were discussing on the way how we'd be able to save the bottles for next month if there weren't many people around. How wrong were we??!!

When we got to the park, it turned out that Sikhs all over Coventry were there to celebrate their annual festival, Vaisakhi Mela. Someone described this to us as a kind of Sikh Sports Day. (Apologies to anyone if this is wrong - its just what we were told)

The atmosphere was fantastic - friendly and fun, and nobody seemed to mind us setting ourselves up out of the back of Nik's car in the car park, handing out water to festival goers and stewards alike. We gave out all 360 bottles in less than an hour!

Fantastic - it sounds like something you could do every year!

Sounds great! Glad you had a good time. I would love to hear from anyone who received a bottle of water, and what they thought.

Well, each bottle had the church website on it so I guess we'll just have to wait and see who turns up...
